Temporary closure of West Lodge Surgery site only 22nd November 2021 – June 2022
Non-urgent advice: Please note
Glenlea Surgery and Calverley Medical Centre will still be open.
An exciting but big time is ahead for West Lodge Surgery which has recently celebrated its 150 year anniversary delivering medical care from the building with celebration lead by Dr Adrian Lee.
The practice is announcing that it has been successful in applying for NHS grant and investment from the GP Partnership of a total of over 1 million pounds to improve the facilities at West Lodge and increase the number of clinical treatment rooms by 3 with an additional waiting area, patient toilets, lift and staff facilities. This will not impact on the number of car parking spaces and will increase the number of clinicians the practice can employ and improve the number of face to face appointments run from the West Lodge Site. Full planning permission has been achieved.
Initially due to the complexity of work however the site will need to be closed for 7-8 months and planned to be reopened in June 2022. All the current clinical team will be working from Glenlea Surgery on the Leeds and Bradford Road.
It is exciting times and the practice will provide ongoing care for those who are housebound in the Farsley area during this time and the practice has informed the CCG and patient participation groups about the work. During the work the site will not be accessible for patients due to heavy machinery and new patient registration will be temporarily suspended so that we can concentrate on those patients already registered on our list. It is a temporary measure only while this huge building project is being undertaken.
We will be continuing to provide the full range of nursing, GP, ANP and health care assistant, family planning and maternity services from the Glenlea and Calverley surgeries.
